House Blackwater of Stokeworth is a noble house from the Crownlands. Sworn to Queen's Landing, they live at nearby Castle Stokeworth north of the capital.
The dynasty was founded by the original Ser Bronn of the Blackwater and take their sigil as a green, flaming chain on a smoking grey field, in commemoration of his role in the Battle of the Blackwater.
The name Blackwater was first founded in 299 AC after the Battle of the Blackwater, when Cersei and Tywin Lannister put him forward for knighthood as reward for his contribution of crushing Stannis Baratheon's fleet.
The Blackwater name began to rise in prestige when Bronn married Lollys Stokeworth, who was sister to Lady Falyse of Stokeworth. Through a misunderstanding, Ser Balman Byrch challenged Bronn to a duel. Killing him, he claimed the title of Lord of Stokeworth and expelled Lady Falyse from the land.
Not long after, Falyse died under unusual circumstances in King's Landing - causing Lollys Stokeworth to become the true Lady of Stokeworth.
Lollys died giving birth to Cedric Blackwater in 309 AC, causing the newborn to inherit the Lordship of Stokeworth as a Blackwater. While there was some moderate pressure on Bronn to declare the child as a Stokeworth, he refused - officially ending the Stokeworth dynasty.
Cedric enjoyed a prosperous reign before dying in 359 AC, passing the Lordship onto Tyrion Blackwater.
